Institut Advisor is a specialized discovery and review platform dedicated to the beauty and wellness industry, built with our Flutter and Laravel stack. Functioning as the "TripAdvisor of Beauty," the app allows users to find, rate, and review beauty salons, spas, and aesthetic institutes based on location, service quality, and price. The platform features high-quality photo galleries, verified user reviews, and detailed service menus. Beyond discovery, it includes an integrated booking request system and a "Top Rated" algorithm that highlights the best-performing institutes. For business owners, the Laravel backend provides a dedicated portal to manage their listing, respond to reviews, and track their reputation metrics through a clean, data-driven dashboard.

Plan of Action

The project kicked off with the Laravel backend development to establish the Core Institute and Service Data Models, including a robust database for managing thousands of high-resolution images and deeply categorized services like hair, skin, and spa treatments. We simultaneously built the Flutter front-end, prioritizing a high-end, Visual-First UI that features an intuitive Map View for local discovery and a seamless Review Submission workflow for users. A major technical step was implementing the Review Moderation and Scoring Algorithm in Laravel, which calculates ratings based on multiple criteria while filtering for spam or fraudulent entries to maintain platform trust. Following this, we integrated a Lead Generation and Booking Notification system to allow users to contact institutes directly, and finally, we conducted extensive cross-device testing to ensure the photos and salon details look perfect on every screen size, before deploying at the start of our work week to begin the institute onboarding phase.
